By Australian National Maritime Museum
Signals is the Australian National Maritime Museum’s quarterly 80-page colour journal. It carries a wide variety of stories about maritime culture, archaeology and history as well as museum exhibitions, research projects, public programs and activities.
Recent issues have included articles on the HMB Endeavour replica; beach photography; maritime mysteries, such as the disappearances of Australian submarine AE1 and the Franklin expedition; Indigenous art and culture; environmental issues; wooden boatbuilding in the colonial era; Antarctic exploration; and archaeological expeditions on the Great Barrier Reef. Book reviews and migrant stories are other regular features.
